The Teachings of Jesus – All Are Welcome

  • We are passionate about giving every man, woman, and child in our program the resources to have an opportunity to experience the fullness of a new life in Christ.
  • We strive to continually engage those who serve us – our volunteers, donors, and partners – and give them the opportunity to witness the remarkable effect we have together on changing lives.

Our Purpose

The Extended Hand uses training material that is faith based and seeks to provide people with the means of overcoming their burdens and be able to function productively and joyously in life’s walk.

This is accomplished through prayer, spiritual counseling, life and relationship skills training, mentoring and support group facilitation.

The EHO curriculum is Christ-centered, which emphasis provides the cornerstone of the life issues and addiction recovery program offered by the ministry.

The EHO program also incorporates teaching on Biblical leadership which is based on one-on-one teaching and establishing healthy role models for those in the program. The purpose of the EHO program is to equip and empower men and women to work for the Kingdom of God and provide a consistent source of mentoring and counseling to those that choose to overcome their life struggles.

Our History

Beginning in 1997, James Gow commenced his God ordained work as an evangelist under the ministry he founded to reach out to people in the West Valley communities that were hurting and seeking healing from their addictions. Under James’ leadership, Extended Hand Outreach (EHO) has ministered to the addicted since April 1997.

James spent over 10 years of his life on the street as a drug addict and dealer, and had many unsuccessful attempts to overcome addiction through various recovery programs. As a result of this experience and his miraculous delivery from drug addiction in 1993, James developed a version for establishing a Christ centered addiction recovery program. In December 1999, EHO began an addiction recovery program in a residential property providing assistance to drug and alcohol addicted men of all ages.

The EHO is founded on the premises of (i) Extending God’s Hands to the addicted (ii) healing their spirits, minds, and bodies (iii) transforming their lives and (iv) teaching, and encouraging them to honor God in all things.

In September 2007, EHO established a recovery based church ministering to men, women, and families who have been touched by addictions.
